About the Role-

This role represents an exciting opportunity to advance your career in journalism and work in a fast-paced collegiate environment.

The applicant would be required to write daily financial services-related news stories for our digital platforms and fortnightly print publication.

We have a daily morning newsletter and chase breaking news stories which mean deadlines can be tight as we are the leading financial services publication so we are looking for someone who can work fast but accurately.

Stories could range from covering Parliamentary sessions for the latest political development to searching for lines of scandal from the regulator in its briefing to watching the ASX for which company is about to see its share price rocket.

Unlike many titles in an era of cuts, Money Management still produces a fortnightly magazine as well as several guides so this job would offer an opportunity to broaden your skills in sub-editing and writing long-form features.

The scope of where this role can lead will depend on experience.

The position also entails the use of funds data and relevant training will be provided.

 

Skills and attributes -

  • Relevant degree qualification in journalism or communications would be highly regarded;
  • Experience in financial or business reporting would be an advantage;
  • Ability to work to deadlines (daily if not hourly);
  • Excellent organizational skills; and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
